Vulvar Rejuvenation & Tightening
What is Vaginal & Vulvar Rejuvenation & Tightening?
Vaginal tightening and rejuvenation are procedures designed to improve the appearance and function of the vagina. This can include tightening the vaginal walls, reducing vaginal laxity, and enhancing vaginal sensation. These procedures may be beneficial for women who have experienced childbirth, aging, or hormonal changes that have affected the vaginal tissues.
Vulvar tightening and rejuvenation focus on the external genitalia, including the labia and clitoris. Procedures may involve reshaping the labia, reducing excess tissue, or improving the appearance of the vulva. These procedures can address concerns related to appearance, discomfort, or sexual function.
At Sirona, we use the revolutionary Exion EMFEMME 360 technique to heat and tighten the vaginal and vulvar tissues, stimulate collagen production, and improve tissue elasticity.
What is Labial Augmentation?
Labial augmentation or vaginal lips augmentation is a cosmetic gynecological procedure designed to enhance the appearance of the labia majora, the outer folds of the vulva. This procedure can be achieved through two primary methods:
Labial Augmentation with Fillers
This non-surgical approach involves injecting hyaluronic acid fillers into the labia majora to add volume and fullness. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps maintain skin hydration and elasticity. By injecting fillers, the treated area appears plumper and more youthful. Local anesthesia is typically used to numb the area, ensuring a pain-free procedure.
- Adding volume: Increasing the size and fullness of the labia majora.
- Correcting asymmetry: Balancing unevenness between the two labia majora.
- Addressing age-related changes: Restoring volume lost due to aging, childbirth, or hormonal changes.
Labial augmentation targets the labia majora by:
- Physically healthy: In good overall health without any underlying medical conditions that could interfere with healing.
- Seek to correct specific aesthetic concerns such as addressing irregularities or imperfections in the labial tissue, asymmetries in the size or shape of the labia majora, volume loss Restoring fullness and youthful appearance to the labia majora, and age-related changes such as thinning or sagging.
- Seeking improvement: Desire to enhance their appearance and boost their self-confidence.
Ideal candidates for labial augmentation are typically women who are:
Not Suitable Candidates for Labial Augmentation
While labial augmentation can be a beneficial procedure for many women, it may not be suitable for everyone. Some factors that could make a person a less ideal candidate include:
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding: Fillers are generally not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- Active infections in the genital area could increase the risk of complications.
- Poor overall health: Serious medical conditions or weakened immune systems can impair the healing process.
What does Vaginal & Vulvar Rejuvenation & Tightening Target?
Vaginal and vulvar rejuvenation and tightening procedures target the vaginal canal and the external vulva. These procedures aim to address various concerns, such as:
Vaginal laxity: Loosening of the vaginal walls, which can lead to decreased sexual satisfaction.
Vulvar laxity: Loosening of the vulvar tissues, which can affect appearance and comfort.
Vaginal dryness: Reduced lubrication, which can cause discomfort during intercourse.
Urinary incontinence: Involuntary leakage of urine, often due to weakened pelvic floor muscles.
How does Vaginal & Vulvar Rejuvenation & Tightening Work?
Gel Application and Tip Insertion
A generous amount of sterile conductive gel will be applied to the treatment area. The disposable tip of the Emfemme 360 machine will be inserted into the vaginal canal through the introitus, ensuring it doesn't exceed the protrusion stop. What about the vulva? The vulva treatment will be initiated by establishing tissue contact with the applicator's tip and pressing the trigger button, maintaining full tissue contact while moving the applicator over the treated area, as inadequate contact can limit energy delivery.
Energy Delivery and Technique
Using a slow, repetitive motion, the tip will be moved forward and backward towards the cervix and introitus. The speed at which the tip is moved impacts the distribution of energy to the tissue and, consequently, the temperature, thus, the power will be set based on the patient's comfort level.
Monitoring and Adjustment
The patient's comfort level will be continuously monitored, The gel will be reapplied when needed to maintain energy flow and the technique or power setting will be adjusted when necessary. The tip will remain in the vaginal canal during the whole procedure.
